PR specialist in Ashford, Kent - Andrew Broughton dip CIPR MCIPR

Hello and welcome to my site. I am Andrew, a professional communicator experienced in press, social, digital, internal, strategic and crisis communications. I am an experienced broadcaster with over 10 years presenting radio shows.

I am based in Ashford, Kent, and specialise in providing you with advice on how write press notices, carry out interviews, publish blog stories, monitor coverage and evaluate work to ensure the objectives of any campaign are fulfilled.

I have over 10 years of experience working in corporate communications, including within the public sector and charities. I have organised, delivered and evaluated events such as training events and staff briefings.

Press Notices and Statements

Want to get your message across in a way that can be understood by your target audience? I can help you bring your stories to life, with press releases and statements that engage your target audience and deliver results.

The first step to a great story or response is to understand what your target audience think and how you can help them understand what you have to offer.

Interviews

The key to any successful interview is all in the preparation. I can help draft interview briefs for the spokesperson in advance, which are vital tools to help the spokesperson prepare for any interview or public speaking. They contain the agreed key messages and a short Q&A to help them understand what needs to be delivered.

Before any interview I prefer to spend time going over the brief to check that the spokesperson has understood the brief and is prepared for the media or speech. This also helps the spokesperson prepare for the difficult questions that might catch them off guard.

Evaluation

Evaluation is a big part of what I do - without evaluation you don't know what works and what doesn't. It helps you find your strengths and identify your weaknesses in order to improve and become more efficient. Most importantly, these need to be linked to your corporate objectives to help your company achieve what it wants.

This process is linked to your planning phase, using previous evaluation reports and any insight avaiable you can plan an effective campaign to target the right people and the right time.

Media and Speech Training

I can provide training to equip you with the skills for TV and radio interviews. Typically this is a one day course with several practice interviews throughout the session.

Having a pool of trained spokespeople is a great asset for bringing stories to life and invaluable for defending your company's reputation in a crisis.

I can help you write speeches for both online sessions and physical seminars. I also offer a one hour session to help you perfect the delivery of your speech, with practical tips that will boost your confidence.

Coaching

Sometimes it's not just a one-off training session that's required. Coaching is a less-formal way of helping people fine tune their skills and something I can help out with. I have trained and coached many of the presenters at the Ashford Hospital Broadcasting Service as well as plenty of staff at Highways England prepare for interviews.
